I like the Sylvania Silverstar (60/55). Price is good for the quality. Nice light color and fill.

Make sure it is for motor sports, a regular car one will pop from the excessive vibration.

I think the standard bulbs are fine as long as they are good quality. In fact I buy the Silverstars at Walmart in twin packs (auto) because of the price savings and put the extra away for my next bike Wink The "motor sports" bulbs are more important for off road or if your running the higher (illegal) wattage because of the filament heat.

My dad went through several of those in the time I am still on my first. He finally broke down and got a motor sport one for 15$ and it is still in there. We don't just ride hundreds of miles a year we ride thousands, not always on pavement, or smooth roads. Hot and cold also play a huge factor, we don't park our bikes in the winter, we suit up.

I'm just saying from my own experiences is all.

Really? Are you bored? I guess only your opinion matters here, I'll have to remember that.

Go back to the beginning of the thread and read again. I've got road rash scars older then you ( seriously )  but, the original post is asking for what people are using. You and your dad may be the only people actually riding motorcycles but the question was about lighting. Don't get hard Peter, I'm only playing with you.

I'm using a WalMart Sylvania that's supposed to be a step above the stock light. I installed it in day time and used my shop wall as an experimental guage of brightness. It is also brighter looking from the front. Dennis Kirk lists a vibration resistant bulb in their catalog. I have about 3500 miles on my WalMart bulb. Don't touch halogen bulbs with your fingers. Install them with your toes. I use plastic food wrap to keep my oily fingers off the bulb. Carry the old bulb as a spare in the new bulb packaging taped to your satisfaction. Good luck.
