Carb Screw nightmare
10/04/10 at 16:14:40

Well I thought I had it worked out.
Set out to do the white spacer mod after checking Auto Decomp & Valve clearances and changing Spark plug.
Trying to get the Diaphragm cover off, had my impact driver, new stainless hex screw replacements, a good bit, WD40.....One out, three stuck & stripped. Any ideas?
Thanks

Get on the sides of the screw heads with a small file and file the sides flat so you can get a grip on the screw heads with vice grips. It worked on my carb.

All Japanese carbs have this problem.  They are too cheap to use SS allen heads. I always do mine when the bike is new before the screws grow roots

Operation successful.
Getting the carb off was tough, getting it back on....a real pita.
Like the idea of putting the Allen Screws on when you get the bike, would have made life so much easier.
Thanks all!
