Segway Accident Kills Firm's Owner...

The millionaire owner of the Segway upright scooter company has died in a freak accident after riding one of the machines off a cliff into a river.
Jimi Heselden, 62, lost control of an all-terrain version of the scooter as he travelled along a rutted bridleway close to his home.
Huh... Ooops!...

I wonder if he'd ridden that trail before? If not, I would just liketo point out that sometimes, in certain places, failure is final & there is no "Try, TRy again" option. If he went down a path that had a sheer cliff adjoining it on one of those things with no safety backups, like, someone YOUng & agile  riding it, to prove it could be done, maybe some ropes, hell, anything but just go rolling off into oblivion..then he was just not thinking straight that day.

Had to be a trail he hadnt ridden before. If he knew the cliff was there and was moving toward it why wouldnt he just jump off the thing? Top speed of 12.5 mph isnt gunna be a whole lot of hurt if you have to jump ship.
