deep thin wall works fine - pretty tough to get to with the tank on unless you've either taken off the chrome head cover or made youself the swing out cover

Ifyouhave a problem lifting the plug out after its unscrewed, you can use a spark plug boot, ripped off an old plug wire, ( thats what I use to start them back in, along with some neversieze) or shove the plug wire on it & lift it up.
Make sure you blow all the dirt out of that hole before pulling the plug.

And if you don't have an old spark plug boot laying around, a piece of tight fitting fuel line also works.
