emergency tail light wiring help!

ok i am installing a side mount tail light in the process i contacted the white tail light wire and the black wire together on accident i heard a pop and now i have no power at all cant even start up the bike please help!

1st, separate the wht wire from the black.
then check your fuse.

Ya done gone & let the Magic Smoke outta somethin 'lectrical. Gonna need a fuse. Look up under the seat, about where your right thigh is.


P.S.  Touching wires together while power is on is rarely a good idea. Lets be keepin that to a minimum, okay?

Tail light,  one wire power to the running light (marker), one wire to brake light.  One wire to ground.

If you're not goig to use one of the wires, just tape it up.  

If you don't have a volt meter, use another 12volt light bulb as a tester.  Or use the old tail lamp.....
