My tires were down 9 lbs. Could I lose a tire at that pressure ? How often do you check your tires? Thanks

Once/month.

As I fuek up twice/week, it isn't really a big issue to check them.

I ride soft hyperformance semislicks at 35psi, wonderful.

Your tires are all thats between you and the pavement.
Unlike a cage you only got two.
Low pressure will cause uneven wear and make the bike handle a bit funny.
I check the oil every day before i ever start her up the first time.
Tires every couple of days unless i think ones low.
I dont let em get more then 2 or 3 lbs low before airing them up.
Remember, check em cold.

9lbs id be worrying a bit.

I remember the first time I checked mine, they were at 16lbs. It didn't handle bad, but maybe hard on the tire in warm weather. But I run lower pressure (26-28) than the book specs, just because I think they tollerate sand and gravel in the turns better.
