What is the best oil for the clutch cable? Can I use the same oil for the throttle cable, or should it be different? And how about the rear brake cable? Will an Energy Conserving oil make the cables pull more easily?

Ask Bill67 Grin

You don't oil the clutch cable, because you don't need to work on the bike in the first place. You don't touch the bike unless it's for riding!  Grin Cheesy

I swapped out the CBR's speedo on friday! I had to make a custom mount, and now I need to make some kind of cover for the bracket so none of the wiring or anything can be seen....

I came to a huge problem that the screw tabs were broken off so I had no way to mount it, went to the local ACE and purchased tapped nylon spacers, also picked up some plastc weld to fix one of the tabs on my fender so I used that to glue the spacer to the plastic... worked out ok but wasn't very strong, I took apart the speedo and I was able to put the screw through to the inside of the speedo without it touching anything.... which worked well since was enough to hold everything together. Speedo now holds on tight, added a few rubber washers on both sides of the screw and mount to keep it from vibrating and breaking.

I'll need to take apart the speedo again in a few days to make the backing and swap out the positive wire to a thicker gauge wire and add a 10A fuse (just in case.) I'll take some nice photos of what I did... there's a few how to's but they all looked like crud because they used connectors, I don't believe in connectors on something as important as this since vibration can make the cables come loose... I used some solder and then heat shrink, followed by using some 33+ electrical tape to tape the wires together so it looks as original as possible and nothing gets in there.

Yes, that's 4 am... I finished working on the bike at 3am... :\

and so you all know I ride
