Rethread using a die to the next smaller size (metric or english) in either case ...... Use never-seize on the new nut to keep it from happening again

It depends on how stripped off the threads are. If the stud has some threads left then try rethreading with the same thread or a coarser thread. If the stud is stripped smooth then go one size smaller with a die. All the nut does is keeps the shock from sliding off the stud, it doesn't carry any real load. Replacing the mount could be a bit of work, you need to make sure it is square to the frame before welding and the weld needs to be good cause of the stress from the shock.
