I'll need a rear tire by winter ?

Anyone familiar w/ Kenya Tires ? Seems like good prices at $45.
But I haven't checked on sizes either.

From what I've heard,... they're better than IRC or Cheng Shin,... not as good as Dunlop...
Maybe,... best bang for the buck in a low dollar tire...
I'm thinking of trying them...

I had a KRUZ on the front when I got the bike.
I had no problems with it.
And naturally a brand new D404 felt a lot better than a worn out Kruz.
The serpentine center groove tends to cup, but I've notice the same issue with the D404.  It does seem to cause any handling problems though.

The Kruz model seems to be made for the heavier HD's.  I'd go with them over the cruiser or challenger.

It's all part of the liberal/socialist conspiracy.  They may stamp "Kenda" on the tires, but it's really a code for "Kenya".  You see, the tires are black, and Obama's father is from Kenya, so the tires wouldn't sell if they didn't misspell the name.  And by flooding the market with middle-priced motorcycle tires they can sneak in forced health care...

i put a kenda challenger 100 90 19 on my 96 about a month ago - total down deal with IRC heavy duty tube and new rim strip (all parts off ebay $80) labor $20 at local MCS - i took the wheel off the bike and took it o the MSC other wise labor would have been $50...so I got out for $100 and i like the way it handles....i am not a speed freak so I can not attest to performance over 55mph or hard cornering performance but for daily cruising it is good for me.

Ok, its Kenda, but Kenja still sounds better. It sounds like a good tire.

But the OEM size the on the bike is 140/80-15
Why can I only find 140/90-15 ? What is the difference ?

Thanks

140/90 is taller. 140 is mm across, 90(or 80, or whatever) is the percentage of the first number for sidewall height. So a 140/80 is 80% as tall from rim to outer edge as it is wide or 140/112mm - 15in where a 140/90 is 140/126 - 15in...theoretically of course. Its surprising how much difference there is between diferent manufacturers concepts of 140mm. Some people have fender bolt clearance issues with Dunlop404 140/90's. I didnt...but some people do. Just something to keep in mind.

Thanks Burn.
I don't want a taller tire, so I guess it won't be a Kenda, or at least they don't list the 80 on the JW site.

just realized i never answered the question - too much fun being a wise guy!

i have kenda challengers  on front and (140/90 -15) on rear for the last 2 tire changes.  Much more durability vs. the stock tire - (handling/gripping is fine for as far as i can tell.  i thought it felt a little slick for the first few miles only.  Somebody on here suggested a light scrub with a wire brush to a new tire just to "scuff it up"  i didn't try that so i dunno
