Hello all!  I am sure glad I found this forum!  Anyways, this is my Savage, 2000 model with around 4000miles.  A friend was selling it, and I took it off his hands for $900, which I think is a good deal.  The only thing wrong with it, is the right mirror is gone, and the right footpeg was broken.  These were both my fault due to dropping the bike.  Anyway, I go for my learners Tues. and take the safety course the weekend of Aug. 27th.  I hope this is the right place for intros!

Anyhow, congrats on the good deal.

I am not sure what kind of tire it is, I'll have to look and get back with you.  Passed my learners yesterday, and went on my first ride on the pavement...actually rode most of the day!  I am very nervous around traffic, and at red lights, but getting there.
