For those who Bob

So im in the process of Bobbing out my 95 savage, im using a few different avenues to do this including BCB's seat kit, aftermarket stuff from ebay, and doing stuff on my own.  ill post pics when its done.

My question is for anyone thats bobbed their rear fender, where is a good place to stick the rectifier that was mounted on the stock rear fender.  i yanke out the airbox so i have a space between the battery box and the rear frame.  i was thinking of mounting it somewhere under the seat but i wasnt sure if it got hot enough to melt the wires.  also if anyone has taken out the airbox, where did they put the CDI as well?  Thanks in advance for your help  Wink

I lost my tool kit cover ages ago, so when i ditched the airbox, i put the CDI right there, wrapped in a few zip ties and electrical tape. it fits nicely between the tabs there.

i guess if you still had the cover (and not the tools) you could cut out a hole from the cover and still place the CDI there, with a bit more cover.

my rectifier hasn't moved, but seeing where it is (and how much resulting airflow it must get) you could probably put it anywhere and be fine.

If you go to the Search, and just search for "rectifier" in Rubberside Down, and search "all posts", it will give you several pictures and ideas.

if you get the blue collar bobber seat kit, they provide you with a bracket, drill bit, and instructions on how to mount the rectifier on top of the battery box. i wasn't sure i'd like this at first but i did it today and i think it is a pretty good place for it
http://bluecollarbobbers.com/web/Suzuki-Savage-s40-Gallery.html

i understand if you want it hidden somewhere...i did too but for now i went with this route simply because they provided the nicely machined and well thought out bracket.
