Whatever, the brace has to clamp on the lower parts of the fork, just abover the fender. Nothing can be between fork & brace.

I think he may be referring to the rubber/plastic guards, that wrap around the tube where a brace would attach. They have a little lip in the front that comes up a few inches inches or so to shield the bottom of the shaft from rocks and grit. They would have to come off to get a brace on.

There are thin rubber seals on top of the fender around the fork tubes and also some plastic peices.All that comes off permanently when you put on the fork brace ?Do you replace them with anything?
