I think there's an app on my iPhone that can do all that. Probably just as good but it's .99.

I had a motorcycle that came with gear indicators After the about a month you don't even look at it. Its neat but the newness wears off pretty fast.

Hello Celia, may I ask you why you would ever need a gear display ?

THIS CANNOT DO THIS JOB  Smiley

Fit a tachometer (a LOT easier ! ) and you will see that you will be able to judge your gear and your speed by the needle of the tach...
...very much like children tend to lean towards or away from their moms depending on what they need or what they've done !!!

Wink

For instance, I have an older model 4speed, and I find that I will cruise at 3500rpm in 3rd gear @ 35mph, and the same speed in 4th gear will deliver 50ish.
Can't get any better than that  Cool

Well, I guess it will work in the opposite direction, then? I'm a first time rider, 50yrs old, and I forget what gear I'm in! I guess if I look at the tach, and listen to the engine, I can get a better idea of whether to shift up or down. Also, I'm riding with my BF who has a very LOUD FXR, and I can't even hear what my bike is doing half the time. Add that with a full face helmet.. well.. I guess I need more experience too. I've been looking at Dakota Digital too.. perhaps just the tach then.. Thanks!

Celia, you have a built in shift indicator... When your butt starts tingling, upshift. If your tailbone is thumping, downshift. Crude but effective. And free.

You just need more saddle time. It will become second nature before you know it.

LOL! Well, I guess I do! I'm taking my road test on Friday, I will be spending more time on the road by myself, with plenty of time to see if that works! Smiley
Thanks to both of you!

Thanks but I wondered if you had a specific place for the $160 price. I'm getting prices of well over $200
