Ok, you bit ....   you are elected by acclamation.

Identify and give a source for the right kind of stripper,  what is this magical stuff that won't discolor aluminum and where do we buy it.

I'm in Canada so I don't know if your stores carry it but this is what I used and the stuff works amazing ... No elbow grease required.

The last two parts on my method are to avoid any discolouration
buffing it up with a felt wheel and a fine rubbing compound and finally polishing with Blue Magic ... At which time you could always clear it again but I haven't had a problem with oxidation I always keep my scoot dry.

When you apply it be liberal with it and don't let it dry or you will have to reapply it ... also don't get it on your skin it burns like a weekend in Tijuana.  so if you have some Nitrile gloves now is a good time to use em'.

Let it bubble up and then wait another couple of minutes and scrap/wipe away with a plastic scraper.   I've removed clear coated cases and forks before the "old way" and the proves much easier with better results.   Good luck !!

I live right on the Michigan border in Petrolia but I have only lived here a few years.  Before that I grew up in Muskoka much better riding roads up north.   Post some pics after you get that clear off and good luck have any questions post them too.
