Re-building the motor this winter

Well I am going to have to re-build the motor.  So any help would be great. I have the book but Road Knowledge is usually better.

LOTS of info both here and in the Tech section,
learn how to use and refine the sites' search tool.

Stealership prices are nuts, so some parts
you can get online at Pinwall Cycle Parts,
Bike Bandit and similar sites. Engine busted?
What? Anyway good luck!

** Look here, I cracked open my bike last year,
(this might give you an idea on what to expect):

The dealer says the oil slinger is missing so it is all torn apart and i figured why not rebuild the motor.

I just bought a 2002 Victory Touring Cruiser Deluxe so i still can ride but take my time with my Savage.

The dealer sez ....

"Bend over and grab your ankles, I'm gonna have my way with you and then charge you PLENTY for the experience and then I'm NOT even going to give you a cigarette afterwards."

The only "slinger" involved here is the dealership.

and it ain't oil that he's a slinging nether

I bought my bike with the engine in pieces and in boxes.  Trust me, there isn't an oil slinger in there.    The oil pump squirts the oil where ever it needs to be.

So, why did you take it to the dealer in the first place?????

I guess you'll end up doing something similar
to what I did with my bike (new rings, valve job,
leak fix, cam-chain check, etc) so that 'walkthrough'
might prove to be useful after all, yey.!

So you go ahead get a camera and get your
tools and work area ready and dismount that
engine, we'll help you through  Cool ...keep us posted.

** and those clymer/haynes manuals are actually pretty handy, get one.
