Supertrapp question
07/01/10 at 20:50:32

Any reason why this supertrapp wouldn't work for a Savage?  If I put a 1.625 header on and mounted this up, would there be any problems?  The usual supertrapp people talk about is $400.  This one is under 100.

Or even this one, it looks better, but twice the price.  http://www.supertrapp.com/product_sections/cat.asp?CatID=32

I had one similar to the upper picture on the sidecar tug, worked fine with a muffler shop extension about a foot long. Original fitment was older Honda XR 500 with the special 4 valve head and 2 carbs. Inlet was larger than Savage. Reason for removal, noise reflected off sidecar, sound was like an older thumper.  Still have it siting on the shelf if someone is interested. pm me

for the top one...

Quote:
Muffler does not include a core.
The core must be purchased separately.
Bracket is not included.

So not under $100 but close...
$69 + $79 = $148

Mine has the glass core and adapter pipe and I'll let it go for $50 +postage. I used the clamps so you'll need 2 of those. seems like I used a large hose clamp to retain it. Max

Does it use the  same disks the regular supertrapp uses?
