Installing a Trapp

For those who are running a Trapp and can remember the install - did you manage to get the muffler all the way onto the pipe or just as far as the bend. I'm about and inch short and am having a heck of a time getting the muffler to slide on any further.

I did some grinding on the header to get the thing on far enough to get it to bolt up at the rear.
IF you do that, make sure the grinder doesnt shoot sparks near the batery vent tube. Remember, hydrogen is an explosive gas. It cost me a battery & some very seriously detailed cleanup. Be aware.

Seems like when we put my used one on Sluggo's scoot, we had to trim the end of the inner pipe some, although it fit on my 96 just fine. Must be some variation in headers over the years. Max

Keep in mind that loosening the header bolts allows the entire header pipe to rotate slightly changing the angle that it meets the muffler.

READ the destructions. If you dont clean it up, real good, its gonna turn blue & the warranty will be gone.

I have a 02 and mine just just slipped on to the bend. Clamped it down and its never leaked. your gonna love the sound! Ive heard the jardines, harley mufflers and nothing comes close to the deep throaty sound of the supertrapp. running 8 discs. I dont care what you do, its a single walled muffler and it will turn a bit blue and gold where it connects to the header.
