I did a little work to the Long Savage last week
-widened the rear fender by about 2 inches
-widened and completely remade the seat
-moved the right shock out to make room for the widened fender

Here's the links to the other two threads about this build. For those of you that may not have seen them.

Are you interested is a LBV Engineering Chain Tensioner for that "short" chain???

I bought one for my Sporty but it required that I loose my muffler support bracket.   Not something I wanted to do.  I think you should be able to make a smll braket to make it work.   It's un-used, would like to get $50 plus S&H for it.

Here's a link to LBV Eng Sporty tensioner.

Actually I allready have one. It's off an old honda or something. Can't remember. Had it for years now thinking I'd need it for a project sometime. Don't think I'm gonna need it. Been keeping an eye on the chain pretty close and as for now I think it's gonna be ok without anything. As long as I keep my tension good I think I'm gonna be ok. Tightened the chain once after maybe about 50 miles and it hasn't stretched a bit since. Been riding the crap out of it and still no problems.

I do appreciate the offer. But so far so good.

The seat looks great!  The whole build looks very clean.  Have you had a chance to take it to some bike gatherings and drop some jaws?

Thanks. I apprecaite the compliments. This is my first bike build so I am learning as I go. Took a couple trys on the seat. Think I got it the way I want it now. Haven't taken it anywhere yet. I'm riding it to Sturgis in August. I may get a chance to take it to a few local gatherings before then. I work evenings so I don't have much opportunity to get to many bike nights. Get a lot of thumbs up at stop lights. Had a guy follow me home the other day to ask about it. He was a local bike builder that thought it was pretty awesome and definately unique. But all in all that's about it.

You better not ever get bucked off bakkerds..your toes will go straight in your ears when that rear tire shoves you between the shocks.

Thanks earlytimz. Got a few more things to do. Gonna make some highway bars, Maybe make a little different set of handlebars. Not sure about them yet. Some shields for the k&ns (they got pretty wet in the rain on Sunday as did I)  Smiley Gonna make a quick mount for a windshield I got on Ebay (for those long trips). It's small and looks pretty good on it. I'll have to take a pic or two once I get it done and see what you guys think. Other then that and a few little cosmetic things that should do it untill I find a cheap 250 or 300 rear for it (that might require a whole new swingarm and more).

I had a 5" over swingarm on my RD350LC when I was into drag racing, but the long savage is somethin' else.
