I ride all winter, no matter how cold.  I can keep myself relatively warm except for my hands.  I think the main problem is the wind.  With my hand out in the wind stream. I loose too much body heat even with heavy leather gloved and liners.

I am looking for a windscreen with a fairing to give my hands some protection.  To date all I have found is the Slip Streamer Falcon 20" Windshield (SS-32-20-C) and the National Cycle Plexistar 2 Windscreen.  Both are about 20" high (over the headlight) and 30+" wide.

Hopefully, some of you have some experience with these windscreens, and can give me some comments, or suggest another windscreen.

I have an old Wixom fairing on my bagger and a slipstream clear one on the sidecar tug. Both do a decent job of protecting my hands form the cold. Mine are very sensitive now due to Chemo so it is necessary. Max

I've got a Nat. Cycle PlexiFaring that I have had for about 3 months.  I love it!  I rode my son's bike with a smaller screen, and was amazed at how much cooler my hands and arms were.

I also like the fact that it has 4 anchor points instead of two, so less chance it could get pushed out of alignment by long rides in the wind.

I have a slipstreamer entrprise (i think) which does a good job; hipo hands are well regarded up heah,  in the woosta hills.  

i have the ss falcon you mention..here in colorado cold hands are an issue \the plexi faring does a decent job but at a price..top end on the highway is comprimised specially in a head wind..i kept adjusting the angle cause i didnt like the turbulance coming from over my head(no helmet state)and making my pony tail slap me in the face!!!

I live in Colorado Springs and ride year round (my Savage (see signature) is my "daily rider" - I don't own a cage).

When it gets cold out, I rock a rip-off version of Hippo Hands:








Before I started using these things, mild frostbite in a few fingers or so was a yearly occurrence (ouch!).  Haven't had any problems since I started using the "Hippo Hands."  

I drove all winter (DC) with a Slipstreamer SS-32 16.  I didn't realize how well it protected until I swapped for an OEM in May.  It let me ride in a mesh coat with liner and ski shell down to 25 degrees.  The shield extends low enough to help with the legs.  I rode with TPG overpants but never needed the liners

Add a Gerbing power port and run with heated gloves. They are thinner than heated grips and the heater strips run down the back of the hand which is the part that gets really cold as the wind blows across them.  It is less of a hassle than putting my hands on the engine at every stop light.
