Videos of the LONG, LOW, AND LOUD SAVAGE

Here's a couple videos of the Savage I built. Didn't have any help with the video camera but these will have to do untill I have someone around to help.

THE SOUND ON THE VIDEO IS REALLY PRETTY CLOSE TO WHAT IT REALLY SOUNDS LIKE. AT LEAST ON MY COMPUTER.

The first video is downloaded to Photobucket and the second is on You tube. Just wanted to see if there were any differences.

I think it looks better being ridden than it does just sitting. Seems to handle better than I thought it would too. Good job!

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the comments. I've allways liked the open rear wheel look so I just took it a little further. To me it makes me feel like I'm on a little larger bike. I love a lot of things about the savage. The tank (speedo off the bars), love the front end rake and height. Over all I really like the looks of the savage except I thought it was a little short. Some extend the total length by bobbing them. Not a big fan of having a hard tail. So I went a little different route and well.... It's not short anymore. LOL

I still plan on changing the rear fender section a little. Just don't like something about the way it is. I love the tail light under the fender so I'll try to figure something out that will allow me to keep that look along with it.

Just went out and tried to measure the travel. These are all eyeball measurments. My shocks have about 2.5 inches of travel. From topped out on a stand to where it looks like the shocks would bottom out is about 6 to 7 inches of travel at the axle. I'll just say. When I ride this thing over pretty rough roads it seems like I'm floating over everything. There's a set of tracks close to the house that are pretty rough. When I hit those I only feel them in the front. My buddy on his 09 sportster stands up when we go over them.

Thanks Babyhog. I uploaded the first to photobucket and it seemed to take forever. So then I tried youtube for the second. It was definately faster. I was also curious to see if youtube worked better for bringing the video up quicker than photobucket. Seems like youtube is a little quicker for that.

Youtube is also easy to insert into our threads... Just click the "Insert Media" icon while you are perparing your post, and insert your link.
{media} your link {/media} -- except the brackets will be the square ones - []. Then it can be clicked on, to play right in the current window.

Photobucket should work the same, but for some reason, as I am trying it, it is duplicating your Youtube video.... not sure what's up with that.

Now, about the loud part.

A loud exhaust doesn't only sound and feel cool,
but it sometimes even helps you by letting other drivers
know that there's a bike around somewhere, the thing
is that a loud exhaust is also pretty much sonic grafitti
and is a nuisance no matter how you look at it, and free
speech/expression does not apply here because your
rights end right where other peoples ears start.

My old savage exhaust was probably even louder than
this one so what I did was in a way to compromise
a bit with myself the following way:

In a 2-3 block radius around my house i never reved it
up at all, neither coming nor going, this also helps when
cold by giving the engine/oil time to warm up and at nights
I would actually turn the engine off and cruise in neutral
the last 300-400ft or so to my garage; neighbors WILL
notice and appreciate this, trust me.

I also tried at night really hard not to go through residential
areas at all whenever possible and also sometimes I'd cruise
in neutral through certain areas like hospitals and such.

When fixing/tuning the bike I would do it like in an empty
parking lot somewhere or at home in the middle of the day
(and not on sundays) and stuff the pipe with a can with holes
I made to muffle the sound, anyway, just my 2 cents, L8r.

Thanks and Yea. It's loud but... It's not that "annoying" loud. Its deep enough that it sounds good. I have 4 neighbors that have harleys. Some louder than others. My bike isn't the loudest. Have been complimented on the sound a few times. So really it's no big deal but thanks for the 2 cents. And I do try to keep in down when in the neighborhoods. Get along well with all my neighbors and I definately want to keep it that way.
