I have worn this Harley Davidson boot for about 10 years, so it is my recommendation:
First pair, I bought from Ebay for $35.00.
Second pair I bought new locally, $100+
Third pair I found was the same boot, with one extra lace, making it higher around the ankle. Thought it would be great for riding, but it was actually too stiff, couldn't bend my ankle easily to get my toe under the shifter.
Fourth pair, went back to 6" height, and back to Ebay $27.
So if you can be patient, Ebay is the way to go!
I also wear them daily, shifting between the 4 pairs, depending on what I'm doing. Oldest pair to cut grass, dig flower beds, etc... I even wear the other 3 pair to work. They are on my feet probably 16+ hours a day, every day!
The newest pair with the best/deepest sole/tread is the pair I ride in.
Anyway, whatever choice you make, just keep in mind the ankle height and the sole. You want some protectection around your ankle, but not too tight to make shifting difficult. And soles are important for when you have to stop the bike. I also like the short heel on this boot for hooking the pegs.
Good luck!
