Not even close to being remotely done.
Don't mind the bag, I put that on for long hauls. She is dirty, was a 340ish mile trip that day. 1975 Sporty Tank.

Even though I already voted for the stock tank I've changed my mind.  I like the orange tank.  And I like it just as it is, kinda beat up and orange.

Problem with the orange tank is the HUGE dent in the opposite side.  I'm going to see if I can get it fixed.  So, I'm sticking with the stock tank just for a little while.

I really like the Sporty tanks but I was trying to think of something a little different.

I hear ya.When I did mine there weren't any/very many. But with the backbone on the Savage you're pretty much limited.I'm eventually going to redo the backbone on one of mine.I have the same tank Lancer has on his bike.Wasn't trying to copy his.I bought the tank for another build but sold it.I also have an old coffin tank, but it's a little long for the stock frame.

Yup that's about the only reason I went with it because I knew it would seat how I wanted with the least amount of effort. Not to mention it was on sale. I cut out the stock cap bung and put in an Aircraft style cap though because I went to school for Aviation and worked for an FBO so it was to remind me of those days.

Hence why I said WORKED lol.. I got out of that JOKE of a career. Stupid towel heads ruined my life so thanks for that. I work in Engineering now, so I guess it isn't all bad. I wasn't about to keep moving around chasing a job market that just keep getting worse.

Played with trying to figure out how to mount the orange tank last night.  Its a "no go".  Guess I might need to stick with a sporty tank after all.

Could add tabs to the frame and tank.

True, but I'm not a welder and I really want to get this thing finished and on the road.

The old tank, just like it is. In fact, I'm thinking about old '60s chrome sided tanks that are pointy in front and fatter in the back.

Scott what muffler is this?

Ralfy and others, FYI. I've had people tell me the Cherry Bomb we grew up with is no longer available. It is available From Maremont who bought the company. They are cheap and a couple come in 1 3/4" inlet. Of course, I doubt they come in chrome. Google "Maremont" and keep clicking on the red muffs. Some on here have glasspacks painted different colors. Ive seen dent fixin stuff for rent at the rental places. PLayin with GAS tanks requires some serious prep work. GAS makes loud noises & hurts peolpe if not dealt with right.
