Stock tank is a better fit.

If you have a bike graveyard in the area, try Puch, CZ, Jawa, Husqvarna. Some of the alloy versions almost fit. Some older Honda ATC tanks actually fit, IF you are willing to drill your frame to mount them.

The short square frame backbone really limits your tank options. Sportster tanks are too long to clear the under seat rail widening. Ditto Truimph, BSA, Norton, Matchless, FatBobs, Dyna style one piece Big Twin, Yamaha XS650, etc.

I run an OLD steel dirt track tank, takes a BSA cap and Honda fuel valve. Had to cut off the stock tank mounting lugs from the frame, drill out the neck gusset holes behind the data plate sticker, and through bolt the front tabs with an 84-99 Softail lower tank "bolt".

Wish I knew where my wife has the pics stashed in her "confuser"...

I was really liking the little one. It is just "perched" on the stock mounts in the pic but I would cut them off if I used it and lower it down a bit. I wasn't really liking the "fat" stock tank on the small bike. Guess I will re-think. Thanks for your opinions.

Sorry I missed your question,

It's a $20 glass pak I got on eBay. Just had it welded on and they put it on 180* wrong (bracket is on the outside, not the inside)

As you can see from the pics, my bike is in lots of pieces right now and is not running so I don't have any idea how it sounds.

I'm pretty sure it is the same one that is in this post:

My tank sits up higher than the stock one and I love it. I can get to everything, even the spark plug with out having to pull the tank off.

Did you use a impact screw driver to get the handlebar controls off? I have been trying to adjust mine but the bolt where the allen head is has been givin me hell. Any Suggestions?

My bike is old and very crusty. It looks to have been dropped on both sides numerous times by the previous owner. I have had to use penetrating oil and an impact screwdriver/wrench on almost every fastener I have encountered. A lot of then have stripped and I have had to have couple machined out. Not fun!
