I have what appears to be stock mirrors on my 96 - they measure 7" from the end of the threads to the mount on the mirror......I need LONGER mirror posts or mirror extensions - anyone have any ideas where I can find longer like say 10" inch mirror posts or other mirror extension devices?...i have checked ebay and jc whitney already.

let me guess you have drag bars?
and you got a great view of your elbows?

try wider bars, it worked for me.

actually i swapped some form of aftermarket handle bar that only had a 6" reach and 4" rise and put the factory HB 56110-24B43 with 11.5" reach and 7" rise and still there is no rear view only shoulder view the real problem here is that i weigh 400lbs and 6'1"....tall/wide load = taller/wider mirrors needed......it is a fat ass issue more than anythign - but since i dont plan to quit eating anytime soon i got to find them there wider mirrors.

I tried some extenders from JCWhitney once,...(rubber insulated)...
they turned the mirrors into bobbleheads...

Look for aftermarket mirrors with taller stalks... Wink...

how 'bout these?... $27.00 shipped...

they are 10mm holes on the handle bars.. so doing a search for 10mm motorcycle mirrors will yield better results than doing a search for suzuki savage mirrors.. they make extensions for 10mm mirrors that they might sell on ebay.. as well as wide mirrors and long stem mirrors.  with lower narrower drag bars it also has problems.. a nice tall set of ape hangers could help with your view as well.. but not over I 10-12" rise.. I think.. dunno I've got really wide(36") drag bars.. but there is an issue with the wiring if your bars are too tall. you could also jack up the current bars with taller risers.. the stock risers are very short.

Long stem clamp-on mirrors. Whitney has them, they aren't very much money. Stock for 1930s motorcycles. Cheap Taiwan crap, but pretty much anything from them is.

Or do what I did, 15" apehangers and 4" rise cateye clamp-ons... all you need is longer clutch and throttle cables, braided stainless brake hose. I used Harley parts, but I know Lancer here on the forum is (or used to be) an agent for Barnett... I can see behind me without any real issues. Right over my shoulders, and without seeing just my helmet.
