Simple, let the camera do all the work: 1) With good available lighting (source always behind you): just point and shoot _{(keep steady!)}. 2) Night time or low lighting: KEEP-IT-STILL! Place on hard surface, point, use the 10sec self timer and run, done.

I was out after dark Saturday night, but didn't stop to take a picture of the full moon. We had a local Riverfest going on, and we watched some fireworks, but a downpour was coming so we hurried home. July 25th is the next one... who will get a pic of it?
