Fix For Hard Turning To Reserve ?
05/30/10 at 17:09:11
I try not to use reserve, but today when I had to, I almost needed both hands and a pliers to turn it.
Anyone have an easy fix short of taking it apart,.....if its possible ?

None that I know of.
and the grease they recommended is expensive... krytox
drain tank 1st.
2 spring tabs on the plate with the on, pri, res marking
pop those and the lever will come out, lube and shove it back.
haven't done it on tank so beware.

I've got a spare if yours gets hosed up. My Savage runs an antique dirt tracker tank and mechanical fuel valve. FWIW, the mechanical fuel valve from a mid-90s Intruder 800 will swap out for the vacuum nonsense. Kinda pricey though...

Haven't seen you in a long time WD
check out the raptor 660
it has a compatible manual petcock for about $20
also, I found a replacement diaphragm kit for about the same.
