Naw Al, that was the front tires on your truck I was talking about since I had scrubbed about half the thread off of them chasing after all you mad Savagers all over them mountains for three days ....
Let's see, $78 divided by 12,000 miles gives you 0.65 cents a mile, about the same value as a Metzler.
(not as nice as 0.14 cents a mile though)Now Al -- you know that I know
that you know better.
Jest like Toymaker last year before you, ol' Freddie is gonna have to hum a few bars for you if you go put on another motorcycle tire ....
Last year about this time Toymaker lumped it and put on the $120 Metzler that he is replacing this year with his new Darksider tire. Mind you he put 16,000 miles on it in a year's time, still $120 a year for a rear tire is a lot of money.
Instead, this time he is paying less than $80 for five + years worth of not having to mess with it any at all .....
(motorcycle style rear tires cost more of your time, effort and aggravation as well as lots of your hard earned money)
Plus Al will have his brand new tire lined up there with the rest of us on the Dragon overlook and
he will know deep in his heart that my old raggedy half worn out Chung Fooie VW tire will still be there on the back of my bike when his nice new tire is dust (and the one that comes after it too, most likely).
And to rub a little salt in it, we will all let him ride around some on our darksider bikes so he KNOWS they don't handle ill or funny and they grip as good or better than his brand new Dunlop.
