Yesterday Morning as I was pulling out of the driveway I wasn't more than 20 yards away and my throttle grip rotated all the way around and revved up loud then there was a light cracking noise.
I pushed the bike back up to the drive and took the hand grip and button housing apart and found that the throttle cable SNAPPED.
When I went to get parts they said it would take 7-9 business days to get it, two-three if I paid $15 more for express shipping.
I needed a new petcock too, so I ordered them both.
$121.00 and now I am without my Suzi
until parts get here and then off to my garage machanic (who teaches me as he works and I pay) So it may be Monday before I have her back on the road.
A whole day spent working with bike and tracking down parts.
Tomorrow a I will get her towed to the garage.
Just wanted to remind people,
keep your cables lubed up. This cable was so rusted it snapped (it is 12 years old). Glad it didn't happen when I was 100 miles out in the middle of nowhere on a joy ride.
