I had been carting around a few rail road spikes for nearly a decade and decided I needed a better way to carrying them around than in a box with other miscellaneous items I've collected over the years...
Sand them up, primered, & then painted them with some engine epoxy...
I cut the actual spike off flat and aligned the bolt hole so the flat end butts up against the bracket, holding them in the proper position.
Very simple and actually quite comfortable under the Doc Martin's. And d@mn cool looking, in my opinion.
