Parts interchangability?

I'm back on the idea of a Savage trike from Trinity.  But since they have to have my swingarm & pulley to modify them as part of the process, I'd like to send them extra parts rather than my own take offs.  My ride is a 2000 and I'm only concerned about the swingarm.  The pulley gets a new set of mounting holes anyway.

So are there swingarms out there that WON'T work on my year?

I've never heard of anyone changing them out, except for the rare sidecar tug that cracked theirs, there hasn't been any issues.

You could check the parts phishe for the different years and check for revisions... the last two digits of the part number generally indicate revision.

Thanks!  But I don't have access to one -- is there a parts DMBS online somewhere??

After checking into this carefully it appears that the original swingarm remained the same thru 1995, then had a part number change for 1996 until now.  The current number is 6110-24B03-019.

Therefore it is pretty safe to say that any swingarm after 1996 will work.  BTW guys, we are building 2 Savages right now, so our photo gallery will sport new images soon!

cool stuff; you can actually get some braking power from the new rear disc and 2 fat tires too !

Actually since the S40/Savage uses the same brake caliper that we use on the weighs-twice-as-much big twin super cruisers, the new rear brakes stop as good as the fronts!  

So if you come around a curve and see that the bridge is washed out, the likelihood of you going for a swim is muchly diminished!

In fact the only difference between that heavy cruiser and your little S40 is the diameter of the disk.  This is not to say that the cruiser has weak brakes (not at all!), but it is testament to how much we "over build" our designs whenever possible. Because starting up is optional, stopping is required!
