Yes, the caps will pop off, just be careful. IIRC, the grips were glued and we ran a small thin screwdriver (or pick, or something) under the rubber, ran it around the bar, and was able to slide the grip off. Not sure what we glued it back on the new bars with. I think I resealed the cap with some silicone. Memory is foggy on all that, but my one point, the thing I remember, is be careful how much you put on the throttle-side end cap, if you are gonna reinstall them. I may have used a touch too much, some squished out and got on the throttle grip. Not good! Because the cap doesn't rotate when the throttle does. I got it cleaned up, and never had a problem.... Until a couple days ago, I was accelerating quicker than normal for me, a little more throttle than I usually use, went to shift, squeezed the clutch, let off the throttle and it stayed revved up!! I can only attribute it to my carelessness putting that cap back on. It hasn't happened again. Hopefully won't happen again.
