04/30/10 at 21:20:14

Hello,

I started my bike like any other day.....

it a 98 with 6500K on odometer.  bought it in Feb. of this year told battery was on tender and just from last season.

Question.

Start my bike no choke.....and if i hit throttle while parked in neutral it died....?

Then restart with but only accelerating choke did not help at all then.....?

Also restart process again but struggling......boom works and i ride off no problem.  got home......

Have started lately with no choke.  worked fine.

Please  Help......

So it normally starts, daily?

I assume you're somewhere other than NY?

I really don't what this means.

No choke in warm weather is ok, but does tell me you're rich.
And if you're really rich and giving the throttle a twist may flood it.

Suggest taking the carb off and clean it.  That may do it.  but pay attention to the jets and let's know what size they are.  Also do you have a white spacer and how thick it is.

a carb cleaning post can be found in the tech doc's.  Look in the index.

Ride in NYC and upstate so far.

I have been riding fine and starting fine the other days.

I got bike to start only in neutral since electric start alone did not help i gave some throttle and it helped start right up.

Thanks

any elp greatly appreciated

put an ounce of seafoam in the tank and hope for the best.

it's also good preventative maintenance every month or two.
