I pick up a used savage, with the intent to build a bobber, here is what I started with a 99 with 12500 miles, got a great deal it was scheduled for the scrap yard paid $425. This will be my first bike and build, I have been reading a lot on your site, getting a bunch of ideas

A good score indeed! Shocked  Pretty low miles for something destined for the scrap yard.  Does it run, anything wrong with it? Huh

jesus, that was quick! any idea what you're going to do to it, other than just a bobber? ie: hardtail, apehangers, chopping? etc.

ps. selling those parts in the marketplace will probably pay for the cost of the bike in no time

The plan as of right now is to build custom rear fender to mount off the swing arm, chop the front fender down to nothing, remove the air box and battery (doing the mini battery install) cone filter,  painting the rims red with black spokes, need to widen the handle bars about 6" with 3" risers, and a solo seat.

Sand blasting frame, getting tins in primer, rims back from powder coating, spokes are going to be black.
