What might this be?

2007, no mods, no 300 mile checkup, no nothing.
Changed oil about every 2000 miles.
27,000 miles, 90% freeway doing 70-75.
Thanks for any input in advance.

Is there a gasket there? I don't mean to sound stupid, but is it a simple fix?
I really count on this forum to keep me away from the dealer.

Torque those 2 bolts (fore and aft) and should slow it down if not stop it.
these leakin' cause the head torque wasn't ever done.
to replace the gasket, you have to pull the head.

2007 has black cooling fins. Could the original owner have swaped it out for an old engine??

Look up high, right up by the head cover. Looks like thers oil up there. Is it possible for it to be working its way down & showing up at the spot youre seeing? Im not sure how thats built in there, just hoping to help a bit.

Just tighten the two bolts, or if you want to get into it tighten the 4 head bolts too. But thats a huge PITA. On the other hand with 27k mi you should probably have it apart to be looking at the cam chain tensioner anyway.
My buddies savage shed the front bolt completely so Id undo it altogether, clean the nut and bolt with solvent and apply some locktite after you retighten it.
