Welcome to Spring!  After a LONG break from the Savage (since October!) I finally got the little black beast rolled out, dusted off and rolling down the road.  It's been WAY too long.

My confession is this,  I did not properly care for the bike over the winter or I would have been back out a lot quicker.  Unfortunately we don't have garages on base, so the poor bike was out all winter with just a cover on.  I have flash rust all over the chrome and the footpegs are completely ruined.

Had water in the fuel and the fuel lines were dried out.  And the rear turn signals aren't working.  Probably water, corroded connections, or both.

It may take me a bit of elbow grease to get her properly shining again, but at least we're rolling.  Let me tell ya, though, next year I'll pay to put it in storage!

A little rust ain't nothing compared to the thrill of the first ride after a long winter's hibernation. But now the first ride is accomplished, a little work every now and again between rides will do the trick.

Next year remember this..... WD-40 is your friend!!  You can wash it off in the spring.  It's easier than having to metal polish the bike.

And that sticky plastic wrap  (sorry forgot the name) over the fuel fill works so-so.
