cheap tach

Ordered this Wednesday, it arrived Friday, and I installed it today.  I can't speak for it's durability but it looks good and works fine right now.

have that same one in a fancy case on the '95 for a good long time - except it says barons - doubt that there's any diff - the only thing that went nutty with mine was the bulb burnt out and I didn't get one of the split connectors on the coil tight so I had a few engine cut offs until I fixed that proper

Where does the Tach get connected?  Is it easy?

one wire to headlight, one wire to ignition, one wire to coil, one wire to ground.  I used T taps from Radio Shack that save cutting and stripping.

So what rpm do you turn at 60 mph.

so with the T connectors and a delicate eye were you able to do it without pulling the tank - that would sure make it a quick install

Tank was already off and the bike is not on the road yet so I can't answer the 60mph question.  I can say that the Raptor petcock makes a huge difference in getting the tank on and off.

Let me know about those rpm's, but I don't really think I need a tach. but I have been tempted too.

Let me know if you have any make and model number info.

I'll add it to the "Tach's that Work" link in the Tech Section.

Sorry, no markings except 2009 stamped on the bracket.  But I'm convinced that any tach designed for a dual fire v-twin will work on our bikes.  This E-bay seller has been listing these tachs for at least a few months now so they may be there for a much longer.
