Tire replacement, tube question
04/13/10 at 15:39:39

I'm looking at getting some Dunlops installed on my bike. I was going to order the tires and have them shipped to a shop near me to get them installed. I was wondering about the tubes. Should I order the tubes from the same time or should I just let the shop take care of that?

My IRCs are at 10,500 miles and while they still have tread their age and the wear on the center of the tire makes me want to replace them.

I like a 90' angle valve stem on the back too...  Make sure to tell them to mount it facing the brake side...

...but if the local shop can get them for you, and the price ain't too much more... I like to give them the benefit of my business...

Ok, another question. I was planning on getting the Dunlop D404s. Here's the front tire I was looking at:
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/3/31/401/9970/ITEM/Dunlop-D404-Metric-Cr...

Size: 100/90-19

Rear tire: http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/3/31/401/9955/ITEM/Dunlop-D404-Metric-Cr...

Size: 140/90-15 (stock is 140/80-15 but the d404 doesn't come in that size)
The note on the product lists a few sizes that are tube type but our bikes take tube type tires. Does this effect which tire I order or does it not matter?

I just got a Dunlop in 140/80-15 but I'll have to go see what model it is.
