I thought about trying the 55 pilot w/ bleed holes but figured I'd be too rich. Since I'm at a mile high I figure 2 turns out is just about right since I will probably only go higher from here.

I could easily gain 5000 ft in a day and my reasoning is that as I go up I'll be going richer. Having 2 turns out on the air screw gives me a little room to adjust as I climb.
Does that sound right????

Yes that does sound right. On my FCR there is no choice all pilot jets have air bleed holes. I've gone from a 48 to a 45 and plan on going to a 42 to get the fuel screw in the middle of it's range.(FCR's also have an air screw to play with)

I run the stock 52.5 and I'm at 2 1/4 turns out. I tried a 55 with bleed holes and the screw had to be all the way in and still ran too rich. So I went back to the 52.5.

that is strange

I tried that twice on different days with different conditions, and it didn't work either time. I also swapped the 145 main to a 150 and she ran terrible at full throttle. Cutting out even. That was with a new stock air filter. Other than that she runs great and idles okay. Pulls hard and runs 95 flat out, getting there fairly quick. Idle set to about 1,200. Only strange thing is when I pinch the vac hose, idle goes up about 200. Let go and it goes back to normal. The vac line is new and dry though. Very strange.
