I'm putting an accessory socket on my 05 S40; where is the best place to tie the wiring into?

I got a battery tender, came with a pig tail for charging w/o taking the battery out. Also bought a lighter socket with matching connector.

I just bought a new Schumacher 1.5 maintainer charger, and it uses that same plug. It seems like that plug is becoming standard on chargers an many other 12v acesssories. Altho very hard to find, that plug also comes in a flush mount receptical, for mounting in dashes, side panels of ATV, etc etc.
But I mounted my pigtail to the batt positive terminal, and a screw into the frame for negative

So are we charging our cell phones? Looking at our GPS's, or just lighting our cigarretts?
What's the accessory socket for?.... its an S40, not a Goldwing.

If you want to mount it up front by the handle bars, go into the headlight. You can pick up "key on" battery there and there is lots of room and ways to hide the wire.

I mounted a weather proof 12v socket to the center piece at the handle bars. I tied it direct to the battery with amp in line fuse in the + line. Too a couple of hrs to do.

Thanks Guy; I used T-taps to tap into the headlight wires; very easy hook up.

I once hooked one of those into the horn circuit on a dirt bike.
I used it to set off explosives by pressing the horn button.

i hooked up a "weather proof"cig lighter style receptacle to the battery and mounted it to the cross brace of the swing arm..made an adaptor out of a plug end(male) easy to hook up jumper cables, battery charger,or my portable jump starter dont have a cig lighter but my cd player has an adaptor when its batteries get low..
