Rookie Question: Installing Petcork
04/05/10 at 15:05:32

When installing a new Raptor on a newly-painted tank, should I "treat" the o-ring with something, or put it on dry and let it do it's thing?

Thanks!

Dry is fine, but if you want to dress the o-ring up with a little grease, Krytox RFE will work....it will not dissolve in gasoline.

You almost gotta have a source, though, as the stuff is not cheap.  I managed to get a new tube of it on eBay a while back for about $20.

screw the grease. Just make sure the new petcock is tight.
