"Hi my name is...."

Hello my name is Josh. I have been reading this forum for a few months now and decided to come out of the shadows. I purchased my first bike, which is a 2001 Savage with 8600 miles a few months back. I got it for $1100!!! Thought it was quite a steal. To be perfectly honest I did get it as a "first" bike. But after about three rides I realized this was the perfect bike for me from now till the day I ride no more. Looks, handling, power really couldn't ask for more, but I guess I'm kinda preachin' to the choir. lol Anyway about my bike the only mods/additions I have are leather bags, K&N filter, Jardine rumbler, Dyno jetting, leather lever tassels (which my buddies constantly tease me about) chrome wire covers (clutch, electrical, ect..) seat mod which I saw on here using plastic washers and longer bolts....anyway now that I have rambled on forever that's about it. Let me say you guys on here are very smart and sometimes funny I have learned alot just reading this forum. Hope to learn even more. Thanks Josh

I hope you meant to say North-West...  Unless your bike is equipped with pontoons and a snorkel...    Shocked

But seriously, I'm about an hour south-east of you (just off I-90) and I do quite a bit of riding in your neck of the woods.   I love going over the border into Wisconsin, the roads are so much better there!  Janesville to Sturtevant on Rt. 11 is a nice cruise for a Saturday morning.

Rt. 2 from Rockford to Byron (and further south) is nice too.   You can stop here for a picture:

Notice the size of the trees near the base.   Driving by this is SCARY!

Yea that is what I meant my compass most have been close to a magnet. And yes I agree with you, my first ride was going across the boarder to WI taking Hwy 213 until it got dark then turning around and coming home, loved it, almost ran over a couple chickens in the road. As for Rt 2 to Byron funny you should mention that we always drive that in the fall it's a great scenic drive, and believe it or not my dad has worked at the nuke plant for 23 years where you took your pic. I have actually been inside those towers and my dad has changed the lights on top of them. Anyway just thought I would mention it, it is such a small world. Hopefully we will run into each other this summer.

By the way I'm sure you are always careful, but there have been many motorcycle tragedies along Rt 2....safe riding  Smiley

Ah yes, clean sustainable power for the future and clean n green
No fossil fuel at all, no carbon ito the air, a gift of virtually limitless power.............. IF WE WOULD JUST GET WISE AND US IT

Otherwise, welcome to the side dude.  Did your dyno jet kit enable you to eliminate the backfiring since you have a Jardine on there ?
