I was thinking along the same line,.....wondering how much the fork can flex anyway w/ all that stuff bolted across it. But the stats show a brace makes a difference, so I guess I'm convinced.

wonder if there's a way just to strengthen the front fender to have it work like a brace??

W/ absolutely nothing better to do, I started thinking about this.
Wherever the roadway was theoretically perfectly smooth, fork telescopic travel would be zero,......agreed ?
Now, we just went over a speed bump.....at about 30 !
Guess which part of the fork moved, upper or lower ?  Undecided

The lower fork section doesn't travel any where

In relation to the headlight it does. It slides up & down the upper fork tubes.

Can I make one ?

Yup, if you have the right tools go for it!

It seems that lot of ppl are making their own now because the
common garage workshop nowadays simply looks like a nasa lab  Grin
I'll order (or make) one for my bike this week and tell you soon how it went.

1) Found a bunch of em' on ebay starting at about $20usd:

2) Look here, I found a guy who already has a fork brace gallery online:

Stimpy...  Your ebay link is GERMAN!  LOL
I do have a good friend from Germany.  She has lived here for over 10 years now, but some of her family is still there.  Guess I'll have to get her to translate... LOL

Wow, maybe I can make some money at this. Think they'd sell for 75 bucks w/ out the logal ? Can't say they'd do much for stabalizing the forks, but they'd sure make a good mud scraper !

You guys are a pain, the lower doesn't travel anywhere?  Go back and check your garage, is it there?  Not unless you left your bike there, it's attached to your bike and you went somewhere, so it went too.

So, for you a fork brace is just a wrist wrap?
