I think
Jack_650
has done at least one righteous trip on his Savage.

rode from portland oregon thru idaho, wyoming, nebraska, iowa, illinois and on the way back rode thru south dakota and montana, all in 3 weeks. have taken 2 trips from portland to kalispell montana. most ive ever ridden in one day n my savage was from missoula montana to portland. it took all day but i almost racked up 700 miles. It was raining and windy too! i think im the only one in here who actually thinks the seat is comfortable. my butt wasn't sore but my hands felt like they were gonna fall off! i found out that if you take lots of little breaks at least once every 60 miles, the miles will fly by. Im not sure but i think i logged almost 7,000 miles in 3 weeks. the bike ran like a clock. this was usually at 60 to 75mph most of the way.

Yeah, it was Beat Duck, what amazed me was his trip was so long he had to replace his rear tire on the way back -- trip length exceeded his tire life.
Took him a couple of three months as I remember .... rode every day all day checking out every little nook and cranny on back roads as the mood took him.
He'd check into a motel and post some pics every 3-4 days ....
