petcock repair take 2

just bought the kit that verslagen was talking about(hope i didn't aggravate u too much lol)

the guy darkhorse, responded instantly and was very polite. so far he has been nothing but nice, and besides lancer all of my ebay experiences have been bad.

the part was shipped today and i'm sure i'll have ?'s once it arrives

BUT the ? now is, i'm running her in prime, what if i forget to put it back into the "on" position when i park her? i've left her overnight in prime a couple of times but what happens? serious problems? the apocalypse? lol

will the carb fill up and i'll have to drain it? if so would i just unscrew the carb cover and catch the gas ? lol someone tell me!  Grin

Well that is what the float valve is for, isn't it?

memory aide: get a long rubber band and attach the keys to the petcock.

possibilities...
fills your airbox with gas... drain
fills your crankcase with gas... drain, refill with oil.

darkhorse sounded ok, just wasn't helpful.

Seems like it would be a kit to repair the OEM vacuum operated petcock.

If you forget to turn it off when you park,.. it will only be a problem if the the float sticks at the same time... not likely... it's never happened to me in thirty years...
I have had two petcock diaphragms fail, and cause flooding in the oil, without the float sticking...
Go figure.... Huh...
