Well i want to add a helmet lock seen a bolt version you use on side of bike....seen another that holds 2 helmets on back of bike where the license plate is.....

What do you savage riders use?  any suggestions.....

I am confused which would work best......

I hate taking my helmet with me.  full face.

Suggestions? pics if any would be greatly appreciated.....

I have the stock lock on my bike, but it is usually under the saddlebags.  It depends on where I am, but sometimes I leave the helment on the bike and sometimes I take it in and ask someone (receptionist, whoever) to watch it for me.

i use a pacsafe lid safe  its basically a nylon sack with a soft inside and a high tensile steel mesh inside that

the bag has a cable drawstring with a loop that you put round some part of the bike and padlock to itself so the bag cannot be opened or removed

All this talk about locks, I guess I should think about getting another one.  I have only used the "stock" lock on mine once, while visiting someone at a hospital.... But now it is under my saddlebag.  I usually just leave the helmet over my backrest, but I don't usually leave it very long.  (restaurant, grocery store, etc)  Not sure what I'd do if I needed to leave it for an extended period, out of sight, where I was afraid it might get lifted...  Guess I'd have to carry it....  but yea, a lock is a better idea.

I never lock mine,... just hang it on the bike...
If they need one that bad, and want to risk the asskicking if I see them... they can have it,..

Plus,.. if you lock it,.. they can just cut the strap, and sew another on later...

... but, it's gotta' be real bad Ju-Ju to rely on the protection of a stolen piece of safety equipment... Huh...

I use a simple luggage lock like everyone uses as a mileage minder.
The lock won't slip over the end of the levers.

True, it's not very secure.  But usually nobody messes with a bikers helmet.

I normally use the bikes standard helm lock,
it works fine as long as you keep it oiled and
with a bit of skill you can fit 2 helms in it.

Other times (i.e. overnights somewhere) I place the helm(s)
on the backrest and use a long sturdy cable lock to pass it
through the chin of the full face helm(s) as well as through
the rear wheel this way immobilizing everything.

A really expensive helm ($250-600) I would take with me,
but I don't think anyone in the forum spends 500 on a helm Grin

Go to a gun shop & get a gun lock. Long, flexible loop.

I use a master lock that opens with a key. I just put my helmet on the backrest and lock the rings to the luggage rack with the lock. smaller than a bike/gun lock and it works pretty well.

I got a gun lock at Wally- World for $4.95 and set the helmet on the right mirror and lock it to the handle bar. works fine.

I drilled a hole in the backrest frame just under the the pad and bolted an eye bolt through the hole.  I sit the helmet on the backrest and use a small lock through the D-Ring of the helmet strap and the eye bolt. Wink

gun lock through the chin bar sounds best to me,... at least they can't just cut the strap....

Another good reason to use a full face helmet. I use a 3/4 helmet. I usually carry it with me as it's only a dull knife away from being stole. I wish I could get past the claustraphobic feeling I get when I try one on.

Go to your sheriff's department and ask for a gun lock. They'll give you one free of charge. Use those taxes you pay.

I just use a helmet that has a growth of some kind on the leather at the back of the neck.  No one will steal it.
