As some of you may know, I recently moved back to germany
and had to sell my bike since the airline refused to let me
check nasty in as luggage.

So while looking for one here in the online classifieds (mobile.de)
I came across this handsome looking 95' savage; they want 2500
euros for it and has about 20k miles on the dial, a bit too pricy for
me at the moment but nice to look at. I think the front rim came
from a shadow, the triple tree & extensions dunno, handmade?
Seat looks great too and cannot possibly be uncomfier than stock  Cheesy

Throw a decent muffler on it & that's a bad butt looking little cruiser.

Believe I'll save those pictures to my Savage R & D file! (R & D = rob & duplicate) Cool

Sweeeeeetttt in my book too.  Looks clean, pegs and forward controls are interesting.  Seat definitely looks better than stock.  I really like the wider front tire.    At least email him and ask about that front tire....  pleeezzzzeeee??

Ridge- R&D file...  I love it.  Very creative of you.   Wink

And yea, the curling pic is adorable!  I never did exactly figure out the rules, but enjoyed watching it.  Watched some during the previous Olympics too.  Quite addictive...

Very nice bike,

BUT

the front end could proce very heavy at slow speeds,

AND

fuel consumption could prove not as good as with the original 100/90x19

BUT

Whathahell,  W O W !!!   Cool

My experience with front wheels is as follows:

I rode a few times a friends Suzuki Intruder 800
which is pretty much a Vtwin savage on steroids.

This bike has a 21"/90 front wheel. Looks great and
handles very nimble but has 2 fatal flaws:

The intruder is kinda heavy, so if you hit a pothole hard,
bye bye tire and byebye rim.

And at high speeds the 21"/90 wheel cuts like a knife, true,
BUT also acts like the sail of a ship and pushes the darn bike
around as if it weighed 200lbs, I just hated passing trucks
on that thing. So 16"/130 sounds pretty safe to me.

If you have a big heavy wheel and tire, thats more on sprung weight and makes for a harder ride.

Thanks... really!  I have never ridden a wider front tire.  I just think a wider one "looks" better.  Like on a Sportster, I always thought the skinny tire makes it look wimpy.  Not as bad on the Savage/S40, of course.  But I guess for all the reasons everyone pointed out, it is suited right.  So I continue to learn....   Smiley

this might be a stock volussia front wheel with a slightly oversized tire. I am pretty sure that's what it is.

Hot looking bike!

Front wheel looks great...I also like the bars and the way they put the blinkers on them. Seat and rear blinkers give it an overall 'swoosh look.

Forward controls are interesting indeed. That break pedal seems a bit far away.

A great R & D for sure....

Thanks for sharing

Very cool looking bike. But isn't the front tire backwards? Maybe the caliper on the bike it came from was on the opposite side and they didn't switch it around?

Is a very nice clean bike. Is hard to believe it is A 95. Looks like it just came off the show room floor.

Piglet, I was under the same impression that larger tire smoother ride. I enjoy reading all the  comments as well as learning new things.

I've always wondered how a 16" might look on front. Looks great! Cool bike.
