There is a piece of plastic tubing connected to a fitting on each side of the carburetor. They go forward underneath the gas tank, but they don't seem to connect to anything. What are they for? Should they connect somewhere?

right carb vents
no put them back in the same place.
they keep the bike from peeing on you when you're upside down.
