chrome pitting
03/15/10 at 17:09:38
Have 2009 S40, have not used it for the last two months because of cold and rain. Was stored in open garage, cleaned it up, lots of dust and noticed that the chrome appeared to be pitted is this normal with the S40. Appears that suzuki does not do a good job of chroming. Is there any product that I can use to restore to original luster. I love this bike and want it to look good. Started right up though and ran fine after two months of non use.

Bikes don't have the best chrome you got to keep them polished,But yours is pretty new I'm a little suprised that its pitting this soon.

I use this stuff:
http://www.amazon.com/BlueMagic-400-Metal-Polish-Cream/dp/B000BO8Z9I
Also buy some very fine steel wool and have at it.

Just shoot it,... and put it out of it's misery...
or,... flat black it,,... that's what Rocco would do...

It's not bad enough to shoot or flat black it. I also live on the coast (alameda). It is noticed up close while cleaning bike only. I will try polish. Will never-dull work on chrone?
