just curious, stock we're around 33hp and 50torque(mine's a '95)

SO after bumping the pilot from 45 to i think 52.5, a debaffled sportster muffler, and a k&n

what do you think she's doing now? she is def faster, but did i gain a bunch with these or no? not looking for crazy gains, just curious lol

Real world stock is more like 27 or 28hp... You may be at 30 to 32... if you go to a 150 or 152.5 main...and do the spacer mod...
being at near sea level in Florida, and uncorking the intake and exhaust, will probably make you lean....
With the stock main, you may be down on horsies,...

Loud sound can give the illusion of more power...

I have a 150/50 main/pilot, spacer at 2/3...with a K/N and stock Sporty muffler.. at 2500ft elevation

You might try a 152.5/52 with 2/3 spacer... for sea level and with muffler debaffled...

I got 33hp and 36 torque but that's with the Kamikaze II intake, tweaked exhaust and perfect jetting for my bike and for where I live.  Stock hp is about 28-29.  I think I've squeaked out about the most one can get for under $100.  Most get to 32 hp with a tuned Supertrapp and correct jetting.  But those are out of my price range.  The new cam and performance carb you give you the biggest bang.

I always thought the Savage engine was rated in mule power.
After all it is a torquer.

W/O a dyno, best I can tell, the only way to really know if a mod increased performance is to do several timed runs of 0 - 60 &  top end & on different days, to allow the differences the weather creates to be factored in Befrore doing the mod. Then, same tests on days with similar weather( I.E.: Temp/humidity) after the mod.

To me the only way to know if you increase your performance is in high gear roll ons against someone else,You can do it at difference speeds.Seat of the pants and exhaust noise is wishful thinking. My brother and I have been doing that on snowmobiles and motorcycles for almost 40 years.

0-60 will only give you the high end performance not the low in,The low end and middle range is whats used in a motorcycle 99% of the time.No your way is no good at all.

Really? I thot the low end was what we used to get thru a 0-60 run in short order. If I got no Grunt, Im not getting to 60 very quick, right? & besides, I was trying to explain how to see if a Mod Gained or Lost. If I test before & after, as I stated, then cant I grade the effectiveness of the mod?
