Getting too late, have to call it a nite w/o gettin' it done.

sheez, I was frettin' about the o-ring seal between the petcock and tank.
I got a tin where I throw all my leftover hardware.  There's one sitting in there the right size.  probably the wrong rubber.

You remember what that gas proof lube was?

Now while you're at it how about teeing your vauum gauge into that port & going for a ride? Find a nice long hill to ride up at 65-70 mph or a 20-30 mph headwind to ride into & let us know what you see for vacuum. Even WOT thru the gears up to highway speeds.
What I found when I experimented about 7 years ago was less than 5 psi at times which I concluded could/would lean the bike out at the worst possible time. This is why for my situation I run on Prime all the time. Corrected most of the issues I was having.
Eventually I will go with the Raptor conversion, I'm old school & don't mind having a normal tank valve to deal with. Cool

Did you know vac gages can come in inches?  Bars?  Torrs?  Pascals?
Just a unit of measure my friend.

While that may not be the exact correct terminology, we all know what we're talking about.
I don't let it bother me when some of you work on your motor, I know you mean your engine.

I use Krytox RFE.

You're not gonna like the price, though!

I found an unopened tube of it on eBay for about 20 bucks a while back.

Tell me about it....

I bought it only to solve a stubborn problem I was having with the gas cap on my '01 ST1100.

I'm so miserly with the stuff that that one ounce will last me the rest of my life, for sure.   Cool
